flower & gardening club

The Flower & Gardening Club has grown from small beginnings to a current membership of over 120. Its aim is to provide an opportunity for people with an interest in gardening to meet up in a sociable atmosphere where anyone, whether experienced or with limited gardening expertise can enjoy themselves.

There are seven to eight evening meetings a year; Annual Dinner; AGM and Social and visits to gardens, estates and Flower shows.

Topics vary from Garden Design and Management to subjects such as bee-keeping and the development of Victorian Parks in Cardiff.  Always popular is Gardeners’ Question Time where two experts are invited to answer questions from the members on a variety of subjects. The annual pre-Christmas meeting is devoted to a demonstration of festive arrangements.

Plans for future meetings include: Forestry, Garden Wildlife and the National Trust.

New members are always welcome as are guests, and evening meetings attract at least 80 people with lively discussion over refreshments at the end of the event.
